About you
You should have a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health and/or a related field. A minimum experience of around 4 to 6 years, working in the Public Health Sector is required, experience of working in similar diarrhea management program with Zinc & LOORS would be an added value. You will also come with a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies and programs to address nutrition in Pakistan.
Fluency in English and Urdu is a prerequisite.
About the role
The key objective of this position is to provide support for planning, implementation and monitoring of the Zinc Program to improve the uptake of Zinc and LOORS through a variety of activities which include advocacy, capacity building, supplies, raising awareness etc. Under the guidance and supervision of the National Program Officer, Child Survival and Development (NPO-CS&D), the Program Officer will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Zinc program – ensuring the program is delivered on time, within budget, and to a quality standard. In this role you will be responsible to:
- Develop Annual Implementation and spending plans as per the approved project document
- Develop the detailed yearly, quarterly & monthly plans to ensure implementation of the project based on AIP & ASP.
- Support the NPO-CS&D to clearly articulate the need for the project and the problem it aims to solve or the opportunity it seeks to capitalize on.
- Support the NPO-CS&D to identify, assess, and plan for potential risks that could impact the project's success. Develop mitigation strategies.
- Foster strong partnerships with the DoH, relevant directorates, other government departments, Non-Governmental Organizations, donors and other stakeholders working in nutrition sector, academia, and research institutes
- Maintain constant liaison & work closely with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), M/o NHSR&C along with provincial health departments. Provincial health department includes working with programs such as the Integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (IRMNCH&N) Program, Directorates of Nutrition, Family Planning, and Primary Healthcare (FP&PHC) in all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The Program Officer (PO) will also engage with key stakeholders, including UN organizations, international NGOs and implementing partners.
- Advocacy with the provincial governments on allocation of adequate funds for the procurement of Zinc & LOORS for diarrhoea management.
- Undertake regular monitoring visits to the districts as per monthly plan to provide technical support to the implementing partners and share visit reports.
