Job Description
The position will be responsible for taking the lead in the execution of Internal M&E and screening social and environmental safeguard functions of the project “Water Resource Accountability in Pakistan” funded by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office. The details of job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities: 1. Develop Monitoring and Evaluation tools for the project and implement them during the project life. 2. Develop centralized database for the project and update it regularly by putting in required information. 3. Conduct project ESS pre-screening, detailed screening, and develop mitigation and monitoring plan for potential identified ESS risks 4. Develop data collection templates after review of project documents. 5. Carry out detailed FPICs and conduct community consultations / detailed mapping all project communities 6. Collect monthly planning and progress from the project team, consolidate the data and share with the project management on agreed frequencies. 7. Conduct quarterly field monitoring visits to the project sites and prepare quarterly monitoring reports. 8. Conduct relevant risk screening against WWF process and substantive standards and polices. 9. Have an in-depth understanding of WWF’s Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF) 10. Rollout community level Grievance Resolution Mechanism (GRM) in selected project sites. 11. Conduct trainings and sessions on ESSF and GRM with project communities 12. Maintain a community complaints log and deal with community complaints as and when they arise 13. Have bi-annual feedback sessions with communities to gauge potential problems and concerns on project activities 14. Coordination with stakeholders, consultants and partners. 15. Evaluate Capacity Building Trainings and prepare training evaluation reports. 16. Maintain records of project documents and keep MOVs of achievements. 17. Collect and consolidate the progress of the project against targets set out in the Work plan, the indicators in the Logical Framework and ESS Project Mitigation Plan on agreed frequencies. 18. Assist project teams in data analysis and Results Based Reporting. 19. Identify gaps (if any) and make recommendations for improvements in project’s designing and implementation process.
Selection Criteria: Education and Experience: a. 4 Years bachelors / post graduate degree in humanities, environmental science, social sciences or international development b. At least 1 years of relevant work experience in the development sector (experience with nature conservation and water sector projects will be preferred) c. Experience of working in a multicultural environment preferred
Skills and Attributes: a. Excellent writing and communication skills and understanding of local languages. b. Proficiency in MS Office applications (experience using Smart sheet, Google applications, MS excel and other data analysis software’s). c. Excellent research and analysis skills, along with initiative for keeping up to date on environment and development issues, priorities, and trends. d. Ability to work both independently and in coordination with teams to effectively meet deadlines. e. A personal commitment to nature conservation and sustainable development. f.
