Job Description

Background: The Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Cell is being established within P&DD, KP, under the Water Resources Accountability in Pakistan (WRAP) Project to support the integration of NbS into government projects, policies, programs (PPPs), planning, and implementation of the NbS framework. The coordinator will be the focal person of the NbS cell and will act as the liaison among WWF Pakistan, P&DD, KP, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and execution of NbS initiatives and interventions as defined by WWF-Pakistan and P&DD, KP.


Key Responsibilities:


Coordination & Liaison:


• Serve as the focal person between WWF Pakistan, P&DD, KP, and lines government departments.


• Abetment communication and cooperation among stakeholders to advance NbS integration into PPPs, planning and implement of NbS framework.


• Ensure timely follow-ups on project deliverables, commitments, and arrangements of PSC meetings, meeting minutes, and compliances.


NbS Cell Management:


o Oversee the day-to-day operations of the NbS Cell at P&DD, KP.


o Maintain NbS-related documentation, reports, and knowledge-sharing materials.


o Support the procurement and installation of necessary office equipment and materials at the NbS cell.


Capacity Building & Training:


• Liasson with WWF-Pakistan and P&DD, in organizing and facilitating capacity-building sessions for government officials and stakeholders.


• Assist the communication department of WWF-Pakistan in the development of training materials, workshops, and technical sessions on NbS.


• Support WRAP, PMU office, and Sr. Officer Policy and Liaison of WWF-Pakistan in organizing orientation sessions and policy dialogues among stakeholders.


Project Implementation Support:


o Assist in the review and approval process of NbS adaptation plans developed under WRAP.


o Support WWF-Pakistan in conducting research, policy analysis, and developing recommendations for NbS implementation in KP.


o Contribute to the progress reports and impact assessments of implemented interventions and/or demonstrated NbS-related interventions in KP.


Administrative & Logistical Support:


o Organize meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.


o Ensure timely documentation of meeting minutes and follow-up actions. o Support logistical arrangements for field visits and events.


General Requirement:


• Physically fit for impactful completion of assignments and traveling; • Familiarity with social, cultural, and geographical context; • Excellent in English and local languages; • Based at the project locations but may require frequent road traveling; • Proven problem-solving skills and results orientation; • Sensitivity to gender and other current social issues in countries such as Pakistan; • A vibrant and amicable personality; • Aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Collaboration, Respect & Integrity; • Demonstrates WWF behaviors in the way of working: Strive for Impact, Listen Deeply, Collaborate Openly, Innovate Fearlessly; • Adheres to WWF’s brand characteristics: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined, and engaging.


Qualifications & Experience: • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Water Resource Management, Public Policy, or a related field. • At least 5 years of experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or policy advocacy (experience in NbS, climate adaptation, or water governance will be an advantage). • Strong understanding of NbS concepts, climate resilience, and water resource management. • Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or international development organizations. • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills. • Proficiency in MS Office, report writing, and data analysis tools. • Expected Deliverables: • Effective coordination and operationalization of the NbS Cell at P&DD, KP. • Regular progress reports on NbS activities and policy integration. • Successfully organized capacity-building workshops and orientation sessions. • Ensured timely review and approval of adaptation plans.
