Job Description
WWF-Pakistan is working on various projects for the conservation of freshwater through nature-based solutions. The projects aim to engage different stakeholders for water replenishment and treatment, along with the provision of WASH services and training in the communities of Karachi.
Job Summary: Position of Project Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:
· Collect data related to water resources (qualitative and quantitative) at the project sites, including socio-economic conditions, rainfall data, and pollution status.
· Represent site-specific data as meaningful information, including research papers, articles, presentations, and infographics.
· Identify project site areas using GIS-RS, in accordance with project guidelines.
· Engage and sensitize communities on water conservation and stewardship.
· Compile data and develop presentations to showcase project impact and dissemination.
· Ensure proper awareness and dissemination of project success stories to relevant stakeholders through various platforms.
· Maintain updated knowledge of global and local water management trends, policies, and technologies to ensure the project's relevance and success.
· Record and maintain water replenishment targets, including monthly reporting of the targets achieved.
· Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to the project
Selection Criteria
· Bachelor's or Masters in environmental sciences
· 06-12 months of relevant experience
Other Skills and Abilities:
· Aptitude for team work and field work
· Excellent English and Urdu Language Skills (reading, writing and speaking skills).
· Proficiency in basic computer software, particularly in GIS-RS, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Project and MS Excel;
· Knowledge of research writing
· Infographic skills
· Be able to communicate ideas and thoughts in a clear manner;
· Sensitivity to gender and other current social issues in Pakistan;
· Demonstrated advocacy skills
